The World Scholar's Cup (WSC)

The World Scholar's Cup (WSC)
The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) is an international academic team tournament which includes some activities. Students who attend the program gain valuable experience such as increasing confidence in presentations, discussions, public speaking and sharpening writing skills, while learning from each other from any participants who came from various international schools. WSC is divided into two levels, junior and senior level. Junior level is followed by students aged 10- 14 years while the senior level for the age above it. Thus, elementary students who participated will play junior high school students through several activities as follows:
- Debate Team (each team consists of three members and the topic of the debate (motion) is determined when the race takes place.
- Scholar's Bowl (Answering some questions on various topics by answering through a tool called "clicker". The question is more in the nature of general knowledge).
- Collaborative Writing (each student writes an essay in accordance with a predetermined topic).
- Scholar's Challenge (each students answers the question in accordance with a predetermined topic. The question is more general knowledge).

Benefit
In addition to the opportunity to compete with students from various international schools, students can also develop their ability to speak English actively and passively. In preparation for this competition, students will learn some skills such as public speaking using English, critical thinking and writing essays.
SD Islam Al Azhar 35 participation in WSC
SD Islam Al Azhar joined WSC for the first time 2015 with four teams. Three of them managed to qualify the global round in Kuala Lumpur. At the global level, the participants who took part met dozens of countries around the world so that they have incredible opportunity to compete for approximately four days with students from around the world. The students also had a chance to have cultural show in the event.....

“That school uniforms should be banned"

In this world there many school that give a rules for wearing uniforms but in America there so many high school that not giving a rules for wearing a school uniforms. What is school uniforms: A school uniform is a standard set of clothing people (usually children) wear when they go to school. It might have a particular color of trousers or skirt, plus a matching shirt. So school uniform is important why? Because school uniforms make a the school nice like in Al- Azhar all of the student wearing uniform and that make the student wearing a polite uniforms.
If all of the student not wearing a uniforms they can wear a impolite uniforms like a shirt,a short pants that will make a bad habbit like go to the mall with a short pants thats is really impolite for a muslim provet because there are a rules for wearing a polite iniforms. (www.schoolrules.com) Jepang student cannot wearing a other uniforms if the student wearing a other uniforms the parent can get cost 700yen paid.at Surabay there are a school name SAIM there student not wearing a uniforms there only wearing up to there self so there can wear anything in there and almost of all the student bring mobile phone just for play.
School uniforms is a must for student because it can make school nice because all of the student wearing a school logo.

In this year there many people die because the government do not give help to the people that have unhealthy body. So the government should give subsidy to people who have unhealthy life style. What is subsidy? subsidy is a sum of money granted by the government or a public body to assist an industry or business so that the price of a commodity or service may remain low or competitive. What goverment should do is to give subsidy to people who have unhealty life style because if the goverment do not give subsidy to people who dont have unhealthy life style it can reduce the population.
The Economists refer to the value of an expenditure in its highest alternative use as its "opportunity cost." The concept of opportunity cost is reasonably intuitive. At the household level, if a person spends $100 on a night on the town, that $100 is no longer available to buy necessities, like food. Similarly, if a government spends $100,000 on a bridge that few people will use, that money is not available to be spent on education, or health care, or any other government priority.
Ideally, a government would strive to structure its expenditures so as to achieve a return to society that is roughly similar for each dollar spent. Subsidies can easily upset that balance. Why that can heappend because ther are no govermant who dont want to help the the people to have a good care. But yes they can not get subsidy becaus is there fallt like smocking that is the one of the example. (METRO Channel) In Indonesia there many society who die because of smocking and the govermant already give rules to society but there do not listen to the govermant so is there falt
So the goverment should not give subsidy to people who have unhealthy life because it can spend the goverment money ampty if government money how goverment take care the country it can be worst if the goverment money is empty bacause of the society who want to suicide with a unhealthy life. Goverment should give a big rules for a society that have a bad life style. And if the goverment always give subsidy there will do it again because is already there life style so the goverment just west there money for nothing.

That single sex schools are good for education
Today, many man confuse about woman that want to be their ex – girlfriend even the opposite side. And that can be the bad future impact of a boy or a girl who learn at single – sex school. But first of all what is single – sex school? single – sex school was a school that separated two gender ( boys and girls around 6 – 12 ). Education is a knowledge that spread by the teachers to their students, often. This will prepare them to be ready with their adult age.
I disagree with this motion because student at this age ( 6 – 12 ) is the best time to learn each other with other gender in behaviour and the best time prepare for their adult life. Moreover, the school's role is to prepare its students for life which involves interaction between the sexes, by preventing inter-sexual interaction we hurt the role of the school significantly. The effects of same-sex schools are significant. This creates segregation men and women, this which as a result of a lack of contact between them can create fear and uneasiness between them. Even the religius school still allowed their students to communicate with their opposition gender. And this is a good kind of school that allowed their student learn for their future. Dr. Alan Smithers, a respected British schools expert, declared in a 2006 report that ‘distraction by boys was a myth and that half a century of research has no chaos consistent the advantages for single-sex education for boys or girls. My second point is actually the fact is Boys learn better when they are with girls and they actually learn to get on better relationships. Mary Bousted, general secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, said;All the research shows single-sex schools are good for girls but bad for boys – both in terms of academic performance and socialisation (http://www.independent.co.uk/ ). Public school is a good way to educated student trough their health as what i explain. Boys get little bored to their school ability on their relationship between opposite gender who separated. And that was not their right to take boys less on their health care about gender.
Third, we don‘t know anything about girls because we separated by our parents, teachers and family to because of their behaviour that reflected the bad side of people who bored at their daily life activity when he followed the single – sex school.
In my conclusion we disagree that single – sex school is good for education because it less health care for their future impact when their adult.
That government should not give subsidy to people who choose unhealthy lifestyle
Many country with their own government are fair to make good future for its own country and some of them are not. Dipa is my name and Indonesia is my country. Government is a group of people who have high command to role a country or the environment that they lead. Subsidy was a help trough money or other things that have been made like a promise of the product that you buying at. People might get fat because obesity and junkfood, and people might get silly of their behaviour to destruct environment. That called the main source of unhealthy life.
Straight to my first argument, I choose disagree because when government don’t give help to their people even the one that is bad so the government and the country will be hated by other country and costing bad future impact because of their bad judgement about their people. (DR. WANSINK) state that the biggest disservice that public health has ever done to Americans is to make them believe that they and their kids were fat because the schools, the food companies, the fast-food restaurants and the government made them that way. It stripped people of their hope and empowerment, and it left them resigned to never try anything other than an occasional "Lose 40 Pounds in a Week Turnip Diet”. What government can do is to give people hope and to give them the tools to make it happen (http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10000872396390444812704577609482961870876 ).
My second point is it will be a bad future impact if goverment don’t give subsidy to people who choose unhealthy life including junk food. Mr. Tanner poor eating habits may indeed lead to health consequences such as diabetes or heart disease, even cancer. But those illnesses only increase insurance costs to the degree that we prohibit insurers from charging appropriate premiums. Ghoulish as it sounds, government programs may actually benefit from the unhealthy. Social Security's finances are certainly boosted if recipients die early. The situation with Medicare is murkier, but to the degree that unhealthy lifestyles do contribute to increased benefit costs, there are mechanisms to shift at least some of those costs back to the individual. It same as the people in USA that drink drugs they don’t realize that they hurting themselve even when their realize government must act as a good government.

My third point is goverment can corrupt any time but with fairness like giving people subsidy to people who choose unhealthy life. And make less corrupt. Indians and the federal government have a long, complex, and often sordid relationship. The government has taken many actions depriving Indians of their lands, resources, and freedom. A former top BIA official admitted that federal policies have sometimes been "ghastly," including the government's "futile and destructive efforts to annihilate Indian cultures. In my conclusion that we believe this motion should fall because it is not fair to trade people even the government citizens including the people who choose unhealthy life and make a bad future impact to its nation. Now this is my conclusion.

“Every child should have mobile phone”
Many child have a mobile phone now. Mobile phone is wireless telephone that operates over a relatively large area, as a cellular phone . Child can use mobile phone to contact their parents or their family from other country, playing games or anything else that phone can do. Child was too young to own a phone. My brother have a more high-tech phone then my phone, and he use it to play not to contact people. He said that he will call his dad but he play with it.
They’re not responsible with their phone. They can lost it in the public, make it broken, or even delete the data in their phone. When i was 3rd grader, I had a phone and I use it for play too. And they can forget about his family because they were addicted to the phone. Second, their academic scores can decrease and more anxiety. One study was from researchers from the College of Education Health and Human Services at Kent State University in Ohio on students. They linked cell phone usage levels to GPA scores and anxiety levels. The more a student’s cell phone use, the lower the grades and the higher the anxiety (sahm.org).
Third, they can brought their phone to school by didn’t tell it to any one. And when there is a test, they can just search a data fromthe phone. And when his teacher know and noticed that he cheats, his phone can be confiscation by the teacher and his parents will be very-very angry. And his mom can banned him to use mobile phone. And phone can be so expensive. And their parents have to pay for the internet access. I have a friend, and when he got hacked in the game he was so very-very sad about it.
So, child is not responsible enough and not ready to have a phone. And they can lost it and broke it. They’re academic scores can decreased and their anxiety can be increased. And they can forgot abut his family. They can brought it to school and when the teacher noticed that he bring a phone. And phone can be realy expensive.
That government should not give help subsidy to people who choose unhealthy life style
We have seen many people eat junkfood, or smoke in public area. Those are examples of an unhealthy life style. There are 2 options of life style. There are healthy and unhealthy lifestyle. When you choose the unhealthy you must be responsible to what have you have done. The government can’t help someone who choose unhealthy lifestyle. If he get helped by the government, he will fill that he can do this all day and the government’s money can decrease only because of his habit. And the government can lose in the next election because he only care about the person, not other of his people.
So they can stop to do bad things that can harm ourselves. They can realize what he have done. What kind of government want his country full of smoke of tobacco and many junkfood? And government should make a diet and no smoking progrram for who still smoking and eats alots of junkfood. So people realized about their health. smokers consume about 25% more health care services than nonsmokers (http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com). That means that smokers pay more for health insurance than nonsmokers.
So, it’s his responsibility to choose wether healthy or unhealthy life style. And it can stop him to smoke or eat junkfood. Government should make a diet and no smoking program for his people’s health. And smokers pay more for the health insurance.

That we would ban homework
The motion “ this house would ban homework” is completely false. Homework is given not to give extra work for students, but the goal of giving homework is to make sure that does the students understand with the material/topic. Giving homework is also makng the students busy, so students will not waste their time for something useless for example playing games and watching tv.
By banning homework, that means teacher/ schools dont care about their students. The job of a student is to study, and by giving homework, student will be supported in their learning process. Students learning process can be helped because homeworks are making student to understand deeper about some materials for example, when a student do their homework they will be ready for a sudden test.
By giving homework, student can be more discipline. Its because it teaches student to submit homework on time and that will become daily habits. By giving discipline habits, student will manage their time wisely, for example, 1 hour for doing homework and 30 minutes to play. If student are disciplined already they all do not need to be called to submit their homework.
Students are the generation of a country. And by giving homework student wll be diligent so when they grew uo they will not be lazy. This could happen because of homework. So student will do their homework and they become diligent so when they grew up they will not be lazy.

There are some people that choose healthy lifestyle and some of them choose unhealthy lifestyle. If the government only gives help to people that chooses healthy lifestyle it is unfair. Government must give health subsidy to people that choose unhealthy lifestyle because people who choose unhealthy lifestyle also have the rights to be healthy, so not only people that chooses healthy lifestyle that get subsidy of halth bt unhealthy lifestyle people also have the rights to get subsidy.
Some people that choose healthy lifestyle might be sick, so even the healthy ones are ill so how about the unhealthy ones, they all suffer of sickness and government did not support the healthiness of people that chooses unhealthy lifestyle. Poor people have unhealthy lifestyle because they don’t have enough money to buy clean water and safe food. So the poor people started an unhealthy lifestyle and whe they are sick and really need to go to the hospital and don’t have enough money, will still the government not give subidy in that time?
Government has to give subsidy to both lifestyle because the people that chooses unhealthy lifestyle must be under rehabilitation so they will not do the unhealthy lifestyle.Government cannot only giving subsidy of health to healthy lifestyle is because government cannot support one side. Government also need to give subsidy to unhealthy ifestyle people so they all will change into healhy lifestyle.
