The World Scholar's Cup (WSC)
The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) is an international academic team tournament which includes some activities. Students who attend the program gain valuable experience such as increasing confidence in presentations, discussions, public speaking and sharpening writing skills, while learning from each other from any participants who came from various international schools. WSC is divided into two levels, junior and senior level. Junior level is followed by students aged 10- 14 years while the senior level for the age above it. Thus, elementary students who participated will play junior high school students through several activities as follows:
- Debate Team (each team consists of three members and the topic of the debate (motion) is determined when the race takes place.
- Scholar's Bowl (Answering some questions on various topics by answering through a tool called "clicker". The question is more in the nature of general knowledge).
- Collaborative Writing (each student writes an essay in accordance with a predetermined topic).
- Scholar's Challenge (each students answers the question in accordance with a predetermined topic. The question is more general knowledge).

Benefit
In addition to the opportunity to compete with students from various international schools, students can also develop their ability to speak English actively and passively. In preparation for this competition, students will learn some skills such as public speaking using English, critical thinking and writing essays.
SD Islam Al Azhar 35 participation in WSC
SD Islam Al Azhar joined WSC for the first time 2015 with four teams. Three of them managed to qualify the global round in Kuala Lumpur. At the global level, the participants who took part met dozens of countries around the world so that they have incredible opportunity to compete for approximately four days with students from around the world. The students also had a chance to have cultural show in the event.....
